A Style Bible For Men Who Want to Make A Bold Impression
Rosey & Vittori’s AW17 lookbook has all the statement pieces you need.
Rosey & Vittori’s color-and-texture rich collection at Lexus SAMW AW17 made a lasting impression. We figure it’s the perfect inspo for the man who’s looking to command attention and own the spotlight. He might chose to wear the silver chain sweater with almost 100 meters of chain stitches to it, or the faux fur throw carrying half a million stitches - that’s how you slay. We’ve got the lookbook shot by Dylan Louw and starring Hwan Hee Lee, as well as the story behind the collection from the brand’s Co-Creative Director, Steven Rosenbaum.
AFF: Tell us about your inspiration for this collection.
Steven: This collection - being our first collection for menswear week - was our opportunity to make a 'noise'. First impressions last the longest and we wanted to make a good first impression on those that weren't familiar with the brand.
We also wanted to celebrate color. We used black basics such as tees, trousers and sneakers as a canvas. The statement pieces were colorful and full of movement (in the chains and tassels, texture in the faux furs and knitwear) - we wanted this to be at the forefront of the collection.
AFF: What was the creative thought process around the shoot?
Steven: Very basic - we wanted the emphasis to be on the pieces. So we used a dull backdrop to make sure the colors popped more. Much like the inspiration behind the pieces.
AFF: Any fun stories/anecdotes from shoot day?
Steven: The shoot was done in our lounge, dogs and all.
AFF: Do you have a favorite piece in this collection? Which one and why?
Steven: The finale piece: the painted denim dungaree and faux fur throw. We loved this piece for many reasons - it was great fun creating such a personal piece. Denim is also one of our best and most versatile fabrics bases to work with.
