Meet Anna-Belle of The She Said Blog, Jozi's latest blogger export reporting on everything from her favourite foody hangouts to her best travel destinations and her love affair for fashion. She will be our featured blogger for the next two weeks and we can't wait to see what she gets up to during her time spent with us!

What happens when someone from A Fashion Friend emails you and asks you if you’d like to be a featured blogger on their site? Well, you say yes of course. But, what happens when you actually have to sit down and produce something in less than a day? Well, you have a bit of a panic. Two glasses of Coke Zero and an entire bag of sweet potato chips later (the really big packet), I’d decided that since it’s the beginning of the year my theme would be inspiration. Inspiration found in the people, places and things around me. I hope that you too can find some meaning in them and if you don’t you can just enjoy the pretty pictures!

Let’s get into it then shall we? On Saturday, I walked into my good friend’s clothing store in Braamfontein. I often pop in to say hi, have a chat and indirectly get coerced into buying yet another pair of sunglasses. On one of the railings I noticed something that looked a little different to all the other items, I reached for it and pulled out a beautiful denim jacket. Turns out she made it herself, all this time I didn’t even know she could sew! Sure a few tacks here and there but I really had no idea she could produce something is incredibly beautiful as the jacket I was holding in my hands.

Faster than you can say ‘Miley Cyrus, put that banana down!’, I’d tried it on and bought it. The jacket, at the end of the day is just a jacket, albeit a really pretty one that I will definitely be wearing as soon as it cools down a little. It’s the idea behind it that’s got me feeling the feels. Each and every one of us has something that we’re really really good at but too busy living life to make time to do it. There's the girl who loves baking and cooking more than anything but spends all her time at her corporate job eating canteen food. There's the guy who is an incredible writer, with the ability to change the world but spends all his time writing meaningless Tweets for online brands. We’re all guilty of not taking time to do the things we’re really passionate about, and yes I say guilty because it’s up to us to make time for it, your friends aren’t and your boss sure as hell isn’t. I’m not telling you to quit your job, unless you hate it then you really should, I’m saying create time and space around you. Cut out the unnecessary things like a four hour Homeland marathon and take the time to walk, write, speak, create or even just meditate and let 2016 be the year of making time for yourself and your true passions.

I’m looking forward to sharing a few more posts with you over the next two weeks so stay tuned and don’t forget to drop in and say hi!
